enjoys cake decorating, her weekly ballet class, and of course, writing. She went on to receive a master’s in aerospace engineering from Georgia Tech. At Iowa State University, she double majored to pursue both aerospace engineering and journalism. has also had a passion for space exploration since grade school and was determined to work in Mission Control after attending Space Academy in seventh grade. Working at the Appleton Post-Crescent was her first professional writing experience. A high school student was probably not what the editor had in mind, but she is grateful for his faith and open mindedness. Originally from Wisconsin, she now resides in Houston, Texas.Įvery year in elementary school she had the opportunity to write, illustrate and “publish” a book for the school library. She is a proud mother of two, a blessed wife to the love of her life, and a flight controller for NASA in Mission Control. Pohlkamp is an award-winning author who published her debut, Apricots and Wolfsbane with Filles Vertes Publishing in October 2017.
